An option for the AI to suggest actions for you.
For example you see a goblin, then the AI will say:
1) Kill Goblin
2) Greet the goblin
3) Hide from the goblin.
Typing the number will make you do that action. You can also type out your actions as normal but these suggested actions can be helpful when you don't know what to do or can help move the story along.

iSoarThis is an underrated suggestion! I really like this idea. Maybe a command like /suggestions or something like that.

RujasuThis is basically how AI Dungeon 1 worked, IIRC. I don't know if the improved version of GPT-2 used in AID2 would help with ensuring the options actually make sense.
You can basically already do this by hitting enter without writing anything, and /reverting if you don't like what you see. -

KarimSounds nice and all but this kills the total idea of A.I >D which is being able to do what ever you imagine.

Aaron Jonesmaybe a command or button but definately not as the default option
-

TomIt can/should be an optional feature.
Give a button called "Give options" or "Suggestions",you click it and the AI gives you options for possible 3 answers -

Shermanated MergedSo like a multiple choice type thing? Pretty sure this is actually how the first version of AI Dungeon worked, which is still up on the site. Was much more limited than AID2 of course.

MizniaIf it is taxing on the server to generate the options, maybe keep it to premium.

IchibiAgree with comments on this, definitely make it an option and not default, would make it function much like text based roguelikes that already exist if this were the only way.

Kurumi TokisakiI've had it happen a few times, and when I input 1/2/3, or a/b/c etc, it did that action. Was pretty neat. Would be cool to see a bigger official implementation of that.

NTayaIt's actually fairly easy to do with GPT-2. After it finishes generating the story, prompt it with ">" and write down 2-4 results it gives. If the player chooses one of those, just proceed as if the player wrote that prompt. Of course, it should be optional and disabled by default.

EsileMine sometimes does this anyway and it is very annoying.

ReisenBring it back. “not acceptable as suggested actions” is not a good excuse to remove this.

MousAII propose a randomness slider for suggested actions be added once this feature is working as intended. This will allow the feature to improve while also giving users control over how specifically tailored they want their suggestions to be. Some players use suggestions more for creative inspiration rather than literal actions they want to take, and there is no denying the popularity of outlandish suggestions. A slider should be trivial (already implemented elsewhere) and take care of all camps.

Tom MergedI get that they aren't always perfect. They will never be 100% contextually appropriate at all times, same as the rest of the AI's output. They were fun, enjoyable to look at, and often gave me ideas for jumping off points though.
Why the hell did they need to be removed when they could already be toggled off? People can always just disable them if they don't think they're any good.
As a bonus complaint I don't like how quickly features are often yanked away based on a few complaints with -

Devon AdminFor people wondering why that was merged, I want to keep the conversation in one place and this suggestion is marked as planned for a reason.
-

Devon AdminThey were toggled off because they were suggesting extremely inappropriate things.
-
29 Sep, '20
Kurumi TokisakiI see no issue with that though since it's 100% freeform... Maybe leave the NSFW/offensive stuff in as a toggle so we don't get a lesser version of suggested actions?
-

Devon AdminFor reference one of the bad suggested actions that led to the feature being removed was "buy one of his young, barely pubescent elven girls", which is not okay even in a nsfw context.

Kisten WolfeI remember that they used to have this feature for a short time a few months back and when they removed it, they said they might bring it back. Ive been waiting, but still haven't heard anything about it coming back.
